Allow the real you within to come out and play in the rhythm of life

Finding happinessDo you ever have one of those days where you feel you're just not good enough? Do you ever feel sad for no reason at all? I believe that the reason it's easy to go to these feelings is because you're lost in the need for more....more things, more money, more friends, more time, more of more. Stepping into Hippiedom, you can let go of “more” and take time to enjoy the simple things. Think about what's important to you.....God, Earth, Nature, Health, Family, Friends, Education, Travel, My Work?

Lovinghippiedom

It's interesting, as I've explored my inner battle with embracing hippieness, I find it comes down to five main points. First, I'm concerned about what other people will think of me. It's a fear of being judged, laughed at, and condemned as not professional and outside of the norm. And then to make it worse, I have guilt around feeling this. Second, I'm having a hard time giving up my normal routine of morning planning and then working until it's complete. Third, I have to say I love the comforts of my home.

No Time? Get a Life!

Do you feel like you never have enough time? Always running, trying to catch up on something? Ok now, we have to stop this. Really it's not great for your health, your family and usually when you're running around and feeling like you don't have time for everything you're stressed, overwhelmed and not very happy. And, you don't really want to pass this addiction onto your family, do you?

 Action steps:

  1. Create a list of the top priorities in your life and keep these in mind when you complete numbers 2-5.

Lessons from my Mom

My Mom died a few years ago, and I must say I still miss her. The lessons my Mom taught me about being a good Mom still ring true today. My Mom wasn't perfect, but she got a lot of stuff right, and here it is:

  1. Make your kids a priority
  2. Don't be afraid to have your kid sit on your lap even when they're 15. Sometimes all they need is a good cry and a good hug.
  3. Attend your child's events even if you have no idea what's happening, you don't want to go and you have no clue if they are doing a good job.

What kind of Hippie Are You?

So, I'm trying to figure out what kind of a hippie I am. Of course, I had no choice but to google it. It's official, after all I googled it, I'm 88% One Intellectual Individual, 75% Earth Child, 50% Not a Hippie, 50% New Age Hippie, 0% Pot Head. Really, I'm 50% not a hippie? I'm disappointed to say the least. Oh wait, I'm 50% a new age hippie and 75% earth child (Is being an earth child a hippie?) My math isn't great, but I'm thinking they're not going after being a 100% human being hippie.
