Dear
Reader,
"To push nor not to push", that is the question. As I sense into the heaviness of the energy of stress, anxiety and fear in the world, I feel the need to plow through...to push forward. Instead, I dance, settle into yoga and finally into stillness. In the stillness I find no stress, anxiety or fear. My shoulders relax, I let go of having "to complete", having to accomplish, having to be perfect and I allow myself to be. In this moment there is no fear or anxiety, just total peace and calm. I invite you to find your way to stillness.
Many Blessings,
Sally |
| Anxiety and Stimulation |
Last week I attended a wonderful networking event, yet found my nervous system being strung out by too much noise, information and people in general. Now, I'm not antisocial, but I know when my nervous system needs a break. Highly stimulating environments can create an overload on our nervous systems, some more than others due to a higher sensitivity. Learn to balance an over stimulating environment or situation by taking a break. Here are a few ideas to get you thinking of the perfect breaks for you.....1) hot bath 2) meditation 3) walk 4) watching the sun set 5) sitting under a tree 6) cooking.
Feel the anxiety melt away. |

To find calmness and peace, it's important to take care of our neurotransmitters by maintaining a balanced diet. Protein is a must to activate "feel good" hormones such as serotonin and endorphins. Also, don't forget to include fruits, veggies, whole grains and avoid sugar. Our neurotransmitters pass information from neurons to other cells. They are our biochemical messengers that define our emotional well being. We can begin to take care of them by feeding them well. Combine a good diet with 8 hours of sleep and you have a winner! |
